Claudia's Place Shelter

Claudia Grimstead, one of the founding members and a driving force of PAWS, was completely devoted to the care of pets in need.  She was a dog trainer and held classes several times a year, turning her home into “Camp Wannawag.”   Claudia was committed beyond measure to saving pets’ lives.  Her own Lily was rescued in June 2001 from the regional dump, skinny, dirty, mangy and with a face full of porcupine quills.  Her commitment to and love for animals never wavered.
 
Claudia’s dream was to build an animal shelter & sanctuary for the Creston area.
 
On December 9th, 2001, we lost our sister and friend Claudia and her companion Lily.  They were killed in a tragic single car accident when her car overturned into a ditch.  They both drowned.   The last thing she did the day she died was related to helping unwanted dogs. 
 
We are going to do everything we can to fulfill her dream.
