The Creston Pet Adoption and Welfare Society (PAWS)
is a registered, non-profit society committed to finding safe,
loving, forever homes for abandoned and unwanted animals in the Creston
Valley. PAWS serves an area of approximately 3500 square miles and
in 2010, our
goal to establish Claudia's Place, a full service animal facility in the Creston
Valley, was achieved.
PAWS is a no-kill rescue organization. We DO NOT kill animals
for space, or because they are injured or ill or have behavior
problems or physical disabilities or because they have been in our
care 'too long.' Only if an animal's injury or illness is, in the
opinion of both our veterinarian and our board of directors, beyond
help and the animal is suffering, with no hope of quality of life,
will such an animal be gently and humanely euthanized.
PAWS volunteers take to heart our motto:
"Men have forgotten this truth........but you must not forget it.
You become responsible forever for what you have tamed."
('The Little Prince' by Antoine de Saint-Exupery)

PETS OF THE WEEK

Gomer
I'm a PAWS Pet! Click here to find out more about me.
Gomer was found cold and scared living in a culvert. When he first came to PAWS he was a bit grumpy and unsure about humans. Now he's turned into a lap cat and loves attention! Good with dogs, too. He is a neutered adult male.
